This is a picture of a quilt I finished making today. It’s the first quilt I’ve ever made, so I’m kind of proud of it. It is about 39 inches wide by 56 inches long. Perfect for keeping warm on the couch. The backing fabric is the same one I’ve used in my blog header. Now that I’ve made one, I get the feeling I’ll probably make some more. Also, the teapot, warmer, and tea arrived today from Tea Party Girl, so maybe I’ll test out the new quilt by curling up with a cup of tea.
The tea pot did come in one piece. Thank you so much again! I’m going to go try my first fancy, non-teabag tea right now, and I will report back on how that goes. 🙂
Thanks for your comments about my quilt. I didn’t really sew at all until this summer (unless you count the occasional strange-looking pillows I sometimes made for the couch). It’s amazing what you can do if you can just sew a straight line with a machine. Oh, and measure a straight line. I have learned the hard way, “measure twice, cut once.”
Did it come in one piece?
Oh girl, I hold such admiration for women who work hard with patience on items like your quilt. Pat yourself on the back! I never grew up doing any kind of sewing and my husband does all the mending around here. I am very impressed.
Love the quilt! I think your first quilt is way more gorgeous than my first quilt, and I’m green with envy.
I’m wanting to make another for my family room, and one for my king sized bed.
