We took a trip out to the Hermann Wine Trail in Missouri this summer. This photo is the view from the deck at Oak Glenn Winery. It was overcast that day, but everything was so lush and green that it was still beautiful. In case you’re wondering, the wines in Missouri are worth the trip. There are lots of little bed and breakfasts’ to stay at, and most of the wineries will gladly walk you through samples of all of their wines. Some of the wineries have attached restaurants, too. Downtown Hermann has a number of antique stores to keep you busy, and a wonderful little chocolate shop that’s worth a stop.
While we’re on the topic of wine, here’s a tutorial for a quick, do-it-yourself wine rack made with mailing tubes. As anyone who has “done” a wine trail knows, you’ll need a place to store all that wine you picked up. Why not throw one together yourself?
