Winter Wonderland

Tree Branches Encased in Ice

I’ve recently come to realize that snow days are a lot more fun for children than they are for adults. Children never have to worry about how they’re going to get the half inch of ice that’s encasing their car melted in freezing temperatures so they can drive to work on icy roads tomorrow. And children never worry about trees overwhelmed with ice falling through the roof. Let’s pretend we’re children for a moment and simply enjoy how beautiful ice can be. I’ve always thought that tree branches encased in ice looked magical. I have a few more photos from our chilly day on flickr.

  1. I always think ice storms are magical, too….as long as I don’t have to go anywhere

  2. I still enjoy a good ice day when we get them. They are so rare here.

  3. Oh I am just so ready for Spring I can taste it!

  4. Normally, I’d be all over a snow day! This ice storm not only got us out of school most of the week, it also took my electricity! But it is a lovely sight to see…I think magical is a nice way to describe it!
